Business Areas

Satellite image processing and analysis

Business Introduction

To monitor and evaluate natural or artificial phenomena, data can be collected directly from the site (in situ) or remotely from satellites. Remote sensing is highly utilized because it can measure wide-area information almost simultaneously and is relatively inexpensive. GeoSystem Research produces baseline data on oceanic phenomena using remote sensing technology and provides technical support and solutions in applicable fields. We also provide solutions for an integrated management, from selecting appropriate solutions in the event of marine environmental problems, collecting data, processing field data and analyzing digital images, developing algorithms, to creating thematic maps

Our Technology

  • Red tide, green tide, and brown algae monitoring and movement prediction modeling
  • Hyperspectral image analysis and algorithm development
  • Environmental monitoring (cold water zone, high water temperature, illegal dumping at sea, forest fires, volcanoes, etc.)
  • Illegal vessel detection / Sea color image calibration (Chl-a, TSM, CDOM, radiometer) / Coastal DSM (Digital Surface Model)
  • Multi-satellite-based sea surface temperature composite calculation

Applications

  • Reduction and prevention of damages caused by harmful organisms (red tide, green tide, brown algae)
  • Prevention of damage to aquaculture farms due to sudden changes in water temperature
  • Providing guidelines for marine activities (recreation, fishing, etc.)
  • Analysis of water quality and marine environmental issues caused by human activities
  • Improving satellite image quality / Providing input data for numerical model data assimilation based on satellite data
